Danish Innovative Aviation Systems

AI-TS by DIAS, for the airside passenger journey.

AI-TS is DIAS's intelligent cabin-baggage trolley. Passengers pick it up after security and keep it to the gate; on its screen they find their gate, the way, the airport's shops and restaurants, and the airport's media. The airport learns how its terminal is used, from patterns across many passengers.

DIAS supplies and runs the service as a partnership; the airport shares in the media revenue.

The airside journey

Picked up after security. With the passenger to the gate.

  1. Security
  2. Then, in any order:
    • Orientation
    • Shops and duty-free
    • Restaurants and cafés
    • Services and facilities
    • Media and information
    • Ordering
  3. Gate
In any order, with flight, gate and status at the top of the screen.
How the intelligent airport trolley works, step by step

Value on every side

One airside trolley. Four sides of the terminal.

Passengers

Airside time that is easier to use.

  • Flight, gate and status on screen the whole time, with a route when wanted
  • Bags on the trolley while they find shops, dining and services
  • Offers and information in the language they choose; ordering where the concessions offer it
What the smart trolley does for passengers

Airports

A better airside experience that also serves the commercial agenda.

  • Passengers who know where their gate is, and how far, can spend their time with confidence, shops and restaurants included
  • A media channel the passenger carries, sold with the airport's advertising concession rather than against it
  • Insight into how passengers use the terminal, reported to the airport
The partnership, the operation and what the airport learns

Advertisers

A screen the passenger carries, with journey context.

  • Carried, not passed: within arm's reach from security to the gate, and touched
  • Shown in the context of the flight, the zone and the time to boarding
  • Each campaign reported by terminal, zone and time

Retailers and brands

Visibility and a route to the door while the passenger decides.

  • Menus, offers and coupons in the catalogue, close to the decision
  • Directions take the passenger to the outlet; outlets see what was requested
  • Ordering from the trolley where the airport's concessions offer it
